Almost...

I love Espresso — I use it not only daily, but throughout the day for the controls of my primary living and working areas.

I’d also love to give it a 5 — but as a result of the scenes immediately becoming “static” unless the app is running and open, I’ve had to resort to leaving an old iPhone 4 laying around like a Hue remote. I find that actually a rather useful solution for several other reasons, but… background please? Even before Goldee was out of commission, I preferred the more subtle scenes in Espresso. However, Goldee did handle background dynamic scenes with aplomb.

The last update was fabulous as well — and I’ll happily change my rating to a five with background execution available.
